Adrian has worked in both HR & Recruitment in some of the UK’s top companies and has continually argued for Resourcing to be seen as a strategic priority for companies and not just a tactical ‘post filling’ activity. A passionate believer in using, where appropriate, in-house teams to go direct to the candidate, utilising Standardised Selection tools to ensure quality & equality of hire! Most recently, as Head of Resourcing at Network Rail, Adrian has been responsible for the strategic direction of resourcing together with the line management of the recruitment team. Previously Adrian was the Senior Technical Partner, Resourcing, at RBS and Director of Recruitment at GlaxoSmithKline with responsibility for the formation and management of the Global Manufacturing & Supply recruitment team.
A true HR professional, Adrian previously held senior positions as a HR Director, worked in compensation & benefits and employee relations before returning to Resourcing (previously he was a Director of a large recruitment consultancy). Adrian is a true evangelist for Resourcing and a belief in the value that it brings to organisations – when done properly!
Adrian is also a Vice President of the Association of Graduate Recruiters and a Freeman of the City of London. His other passions are his family (two daughters, Georgina at Surrey University reading Law and Sophia starting out in the world of professional tennis!), helping to run the local tennis club (Martin Dene LTC) and the odd game of golf (Member at La Manga Country Club, Spain).
